Sowerby Bridge Wharf
Sowerby Bridge Wharf. Once a working canal. The warehouses were used to store salt, cotton and wool, which were the main cargoes ferried by the barges coming from Lancashire and Cheshire. The Canal was owned by The Rochdale Canal Company and fell into disrepair in the late 1950's/Early 60's.
